Alison Ross

Award winning designer of 23 years commercial experience, Alison has worked across a variety of sectors, specialising in Workplace and Hospitality fit out. Alison has run her own design studio since 2009. BOYNTON ROSSI is the evolution of her trusted design service.

Starting her career at DBI Design on the Gold Coast, Alison worked on luxury Hotels, Resorts and Multi-Residential Towers such as Q1, Sea Temple, Peppers Resorts and Circle on Cavil. Alison later went on to expand on her Hotels and Hospitality experience when she joined Endinburgh-based architectural studios, designing Wetherspoons Restaurants as well as other major restaurant chains such as Pizza Express and TGI Fridays across the UK. Returning to Australia, Alison designed The Waterloo Hotel for Brand + Slater before establishing her own design practice.

Alison’s experience in the Workplace Sector was founded in 2005 when she worked for Group GSA, followed by Geyer, two of the heavyweights on the Australian Interior Design scene. Alison gained experience working for brands such as Next Hotel, Macquarie Bank, Rio Tinto, Arrow Energy, QBCC and ANZ Retail across sites ranging from 600-12,000m2. Working within these teams, Alison won Design Institute of Australia awards for projects including Best Set/Display Design, Best Corporate Fit Out and Best Use of Colour.

A talented and passionate designer, Alison's natural tendancy is towards edgy, bold and dynamic design solutions; she loves to push boundaries and challenge the status quo, ultimately vering towards the unique and bespoke over the commonplace. Alison's ability to interpret and distill a brief to quickly realise a resolved design solution comes from asking the right questions to get the right answers. It comes from listening, understanding and experience. It also comes from owning a business and appreciating what other business owners and operators really need. Alison's design process has been trusted by her valued clients for over two decades.

British Boutique Hotels, Sydney Radio Stations and Luxury Homes in Noosa are just some of the projects that Lauren has worked on both locally and internationally to gain diverse experience in Interior Design over her 20 year career.

Lauren is a passionate interior designer who has achieved many accolades. A conscientious and proactive team member, Lauren holds herself to the highest standards and is a great all-rounder. Lauren has assisted Alison on an ongoing basis for many years and is a valued and trusted colleague.

In the studio

In 2024 BOYNTON ROSSI and Liife Architecture opened a Co-working Studio in Ashgrove and have since filled it with Design Mums returning to work following time out from their careers whilst caring for their families. The passionate women in our studio are talented Architects and Interior Designers with excellent experience delivering hospitality projects as well as a diversity of complimentary design backgrounds which bolsters the collective brain trust. Vibrant and warm, the studio allows us to scale our team as projects ramp up, de-risking the small studio offer for larger clients. It is a studio model that bucks the trends of traditional design firms but is meeting our work, community and client needs in a wholly joyful and uplifting way.
